本日より、今年度最後のアクティビティに入りました。題材はこの一年で扱った内容全てです。今までたくさんのプレゼンやディベートを行ってきましたが、そのどれもが一過性のものになってしまっているのが現状です。ですので、この1ヶ月間を通して、1年間で学んだことをしっかりを英語で言えるようすることを目的としています。

As we approach the end of the school year, students have started their final activity, focusing on applying everything they have learned throughout the year.This activity is designed to help students consolidate their knowledge and express themselves confidently in English. While they have participated in many presentations and debates, the goal is to ensure that these experiences are not just one-time exercises but skills they can actively use.

今回は、チュートリアルということで、各セクションでどのようなことが聞かれるのかを生徒にも体験してもらい、次回以降は、しっかりと聞かれたトピックに関して準備して、スムーズに答えれるようにしていきます。

For the first session, students participated in a tutorial, familiarizing themselves with the types of questions they will encounter. From the next session, they will prepare in advance to respond smoothly and effectively.

生徒も懐かしみながらスピーキングの練習を始めました。

普通科と違い、ただ英語に力を入れるだけではなく、しっかりと運用能力を鍛えていきましょう！

Students enjoyed revisiting past topics while practicing their speaking skills. The Foreign Language Course goes beyond simply studying English—it focuses on developing real-world communication skills.

本日より2回は、英検の題材を用いた授業を行いました！

内容は、要約問題とエッセイ問題、スピーキング練習とグループを分けて、それぞれポイント等を共有して取り組みました！

Starting today, we conducted two sessions using Eiken-based materials. The activities included summary questions, essay writing, speaking practice, and group discussions to share key points and strategies.

英検は、幅広いトピックを扱っており、さらにレベル別に4技能も求められるため、生徒にあった内容を勉強をすることができます。

Eiken covers a wide range of topics and assesses all four skills at different levels, making it a great tool for tailoring lessons to students’ individual needs. Since summary questions are relatively new and unfamiliar to many students, we provided detailed explanations to build their confidence and motivation.

また、要約問題は、近年始まったばかりであまり生徒にとっても馴染みがありません。そういった部分も説明することで生徒のやる気に繋げていきました！

今週の土日に英検が控えていますので、少しでも意識高く勉強できるキッカケになればと思います！

 With the Eiken test approaching this weekend, we hope these lessons serve as a meaningful opportunity for students to boost their preparation and approach the test with greater focus and determination!

本日は今まで作り上げてきた原稿を使い、意見交換を行いました。調べ学習が基礎であるため、時間を約1ヶ月ほど費やしてきました。しかし、なかなか満足するような結果にはならなかったチームも多かったので、来年度に期待しましょう！

Today, students used the scripts they’ve been working on to engage in discussions and exchange opinions. Over the past month, we have spent significant time on research-based learning as the foundation for these scripts. However, many teams found it difficult to achieve fully satisfying results. We look forward to seeing even greater progress next year!

一方スピーキング練習の方も、順調に行っております。スピーキングも事前準備が非常に大切になってきます。

ただ話すのではなく、授業で習った表現やトピックを予習してくることで、目的を持って話せていると良いですね！

On the other hand, speaking practice is progressing smoothly. Preparation is key when it comes to speaking.

Rather than simply talking, it’s important for students to preview the expressions and topics covered in class. This allows them to speak with purpose and make the most of their practice time.

次回からは、英検の内容を取り入れた授業を2回行っていきます。今まで以上に予習も必要になってきますので、授業外でしっかりと英語に触れていきましょう！

Starting next session, we will conduct two lessons incorporating content from the Eiken test. This will require even more preparation than before, so students are encouraged to immerse themselves in English outside of class as well. Let’s keep up the hard work!

本日は、今まで調べきた情報をまとめて、原稿を完成させる日でした。調べれば調べるほど情報がある一方、欲しい情報が見つけられずに苦労する場面も多く見受けられました。そういった経験を経て、自ら積極的に情報を掴みにいく姿勢を養えたらと思います。

Today was dedicated to compiling all the information students have researched so far and finalizing their scripts. While there is an abundance of information available, many students found it challenging to locate exactly what they needed. Through these experiences, we hope they can develop a proactive approach to seeking out and acquiring the information they need.

スピーキングの練習では、単語･単語で話してしまう癖がついている生徒が多い印象です。対面で海外の人と話す機会の貴重性を十分に理解して、どんどん自分から文章で言えるようにできると良いですね！そのためには、日頃からの英会話の練習と同時にインプットの量を増やしていく必要があります。

In speaking practice, we noticed that many students have a habit of speaking in fragments or individual words. It’s important for them to recognize the value of having opportunities to speak directly with people from other countries and to actively practice expressing themselves in full sentences. To achieve this, students need to increase their input while regularly engaging in English conversation practice.

普通科ではない、外国語科ならではの授業を活かして、普通科にはない英語力の向上に努めていきましょう！

By making the most of our specialized curriculum, unique to the Foreign Language Department, we aim to cultivate English proficiency that goes beyond the scope of a standard academic course. Let’s continue striving to achieve higher levels of English fluency!

あけましておめでとうございます！

蕨高校外国語科は新年から元気に授業が始まりました！

それぞれ有意義な年末年始を過ごせたかと思います。今年度の授業も残り1ヶ月半。

悔いのないように、そして今まで以上に英語運用能力を付けていきましょう！

Warabi High School’s Foreign Language Department is back in action, full of energy for the new year!
With only a month and a half remaining in this school year, let’s make every moment count. This is the perfect time to solidify your English skills and finish strong!

さて、授業の内容は前回に引き続き、クイックレスポンス練習とアカデミックディベートの両方を行なっています！

 We’ve continued our focus on Quick Response Speaking Practice and Academic Debate, building on the progress from last year.

アカデミックはチームに分かれて、スプレッドシートとAIツールを用いて情報収集をしています。次回で基本的な原稿の完成させ、アタックやディフェンスの構想も練っていきます。

Students are divided into teams and are actively gathering information using spreadsheets and AI tools. The next class will focus on completing basic scripts while brainstorming strategies for attack and defense. This will set the foundation for their upcoming debates.

 スピーキング練習の方は、英検をもとに行うQ&Aと、日常会話をベースとして行う構成をとっています。

年末年始で英語から離れてしまった生徒も多い中で、英語の感覚を取り戻せてると嬉しいですね！

This involves a combination of Eiken Q&A and daily conversation exercises. After the holiday break, many students may feel a little distant from English, so these activities are a great way to help them regain their rhythm.

2月は総復習を行います！

今まで沢山のアクティビティや議論を行ってきましたので、その全範囲をもう一度復習し、改めて英語で伝えられるかどうかをみていきます！

こうして話せるトピックや使える表現を増やしていきましょう！
