最終トピックは「School trips should be abolished.」でした！準備段階も慣れてきたのか、話し合いながら進めるチーム多くあり、成長を感じました！

Today marked the conclusion of our three-month journey with Parliamentary Debate. Many teams worked collaboratively during preparation, showing their growth and adaptability.

今回で約3ヶ月間取り組んできた、Parliamentary Debate（即興型ディベート）が終了しました。

スピーチコンテストが終わって、さらなる英語力の向上を目的に、何段階もレベルをあげてきました。

最初はわからないことも多く戸惑っていることも多かったですが、進むにつれて生徒達の順応性の高さと吸収力、そしてなにより楽しむ力を感じました。

This intensive debate training began after the speech contest to further enhance students’ English skills. Initially, there was confusion and uncertainty, but as time went on, their adaptability, eagerness to learn, and ability to enjoy the process truly shone.

この即興型ディベートは難易度の高いディベートでしたが、様々な観点で成長をしてくれたと思います。

Writingパートでは２００～３００語、Speakingパートでは２分３０秒以上も話すことができるようになったことは、生徒達にとっても大きな一歩だと思います。

Despite the challenges of this advanced debate format, the students demonstrated growth in many areas. In the writing portion, they were able to compose 200–300 words, and in the speaking section, they confidently spoke for over 2 minutes and 30 seconds. These milestones represent significant achievements for the students.

中間考査以降も引き続き、生徒達に楽しみながら成長を実感できるような授業展開を考えております！

なかなかうまくいかない時も出てくると思いますが、持ち前のチームワークと明るさで乗り切ってほしいですね！

After the midterm exams, we’ll continue creating lessons that allow students to enjoy learning while experiencing personal growth. Challenges may arise, but with their teamwork and positivity, they can overcome anything.

本日も第4回目のディベート対決を行いました！議題は「Social media usage should be restricted.」です。

Today, we held our 4th debate competition! The topic was: "Social media usage should be restricted."

今回から、前半チームと後半チームを混ぜて対決し、新しい空気を入れて臨みました！

これまでの勝敗数に鑑みて対戦相手を決めたので、どのディベートも接戦であり、引き分けとなった試合もありました。

This time, we mixed the teams from the earlier and later rounds to create a new dynamic and bring fresh energy to the debates.

Based on the previous wins and losses, we paired the teams strategically. As a result, all debates were very close, and some matches even ended in a tie!

事前学習をＯＫにしていることもあり、データを用いて発表するチームがある中、大変説得力のある内容になっているチームも多かったです。

 Since pre-class preparation is allowed, many teams used data in their speeches, making their arguments highly convincing.

次回でいよいよ最後の即興型ディベートになります。みんな気合いを入れて挑戦してくれることを楽しみにしています！

Next time will be the final impromptu debate. We are excited to see everyone give it their all and finish strong!

本日も、第三回となるディベート大会を行いました！

今回からは、事前に調べて準備をしていいことになっています。
なので内容の説得力が今回からよりキーになりました。
議題は「Japan should accept more immigrants」シンプルかつ定番な議題でした。

Today, we held our third debate competition!

This time, students were allowed to research and prepare in advance. This made having convincing arguments the key to success. The topic was: "Japan should accept more immigrants." A simple yet classic debate topic.

それぞれのチームが事前にメモした内容や情報をもとにまずは原稿の書き出しを行いました。
議論がスタートすると、具体例にも説得力にまして、ALTの先生がうなずくシーンも増え、内容に厚みが増しました！
勝敗をつけるのも非常に難しく、それだけ議論のレベルが上がってきたということだと思います。

Each team began by writing their speeches based on the notes and information they had prepared beforehand.

Once the debate started, we saw more persuasive examples, and even the ALT teachers were nodding in agreement during the discussions. The content became much richer and more detailed!

It was difficult to decide the winner, which shows just how much the level of the debates has improved.

授業での発表だけでなく、自学習にも力を入れて流暢性や英語の質を高めてくれるといいですね！

Beyond class presentations, we hope students will focus on self-study to improve their fluency and the quality of their English. Let’s keep aiming higher!

先週に引き続き、今回もチームに分かれて実際にディベートで対決をしました！

議題は、「High school students should learn another language as well as English.」でした。

外国語科は、2年次より第二言語を学び始めます。そのためこのトピックを通して改めて言語を学ぶ意味を深く考えてほしいと思いました。

Last week, we had another debate activity with teams!

The topic was: "High school students should learn another language as well as English."

In the Foreign Language Department, students start learning a second language in their second year. This topic helped them think more deeply about the importance of learning languages.

実際に始まると、生徒達の回数を重ねる毎に発話量や内容も濃くなっていき、ALTの先生方も本当にこの授業を楽しんでくれています。

During the debate, we saw students speak more and share deeper ideas. With more practice, their skills are improving. Even the ALT teachers enjoyed the class very much!

ポイントは個人の点数の他に、勝敗によってチームのポイント制でもあります。前回負けてしまったチームも修正し、今回は勝っているチームもあれば、その逆もチームもあります。悩みながら、楽しみながら、競争心をもって取り組んで、日々成長していきましょう！
In the debate, students earn individual points, and teams also get points based on their performance. Some teams that lost last time made changes and won this time. Others are still working hard to improve. The students are learning through competition while having fun and growing day by day!

次回以降は、ルールを変えて、事前に3つの議題を提示している状態です。そのため各チームそれぞれの議題について調べ、資料も持ち込み可にしています（英語で書かれた文章はNG）。

From next time, the rules will change. Students will get three possible topics in advance. They can research these topics and bring materials to class (but materials written in English are not allowed).

次回以降は、さらに専門的に、内容にもこだわって、より説得力のあるディベートにしていきましょう！

With these new rules, debates will become more advanced. Students can prepare better arguments and create more convincing debates. Let’s keep improving and enjoy even more exciting debates!

約１週間ぶりのDDクラスでしたが、本格的にディベートがスタートしました！

本日のトピック「Schools should ban online lessons.」でした。

It has been about a week since our last DD class, and we have officially started with real debates!

Today's topic was "Schools should ban online lessons."

今ままでの練習を元に、各自の英語力や思考力、チームワークもディベートの勝敗に関わってくるため、みんな真剣に取り組んでくれています。

Building on previous practice, each student's English proficiency, critical thinking, and teamwork are now key factors in determining the outcome of the debate. Everyone has been working hard and taking it seriously. 

回数をこなすことによって、自然とディベートの流れが身についてきており、成長を感じられますね。

良くできているチームや反論で止まってしまうチーム、要約がうまくいかないチームなど様々あり、各個人の課題等も改めて見つかったと思います。

 As we continue practicing, students are naturally becoming more comfortable with the flow of debates, and we can definitely see growth in their abilities.

There were teams that performed really well, teams that struggled with rebuttals, and teams that found summarizing difficult. This has allowed us to identify individual challenges that need to be addressed.

外国語科として、英語の授業を充実させて、自分達で復習をする機会を増やすことで、少しでも総合的な英語力に結びつくと良いですね！これからのトピックでは社会問題も導入していきます。授業を通して社会問題にも関心を持ち、心身ともに成長してくれることを願っています！

As part of the Foreign Language department, I hope to enrich the English lessons and increase opportunities for students to review and self-study, ultimately improving their overall English proficiency.

From now on, we will also incorporate social issues into the topics. I hope that through these debates, students will become more aware of global issues and grow both intellectually and personally!
