学校生活

We were all able to return home safely. We had a truly wonderful experience. Wooty taught us about consumption, waste, and investment. Right now, we are in a state of consumption. Even after returning to Japan, whether this experience becomes an investment depends on how we act to cherish the relationships we built in Australia. Let's actively prepare for the cultural festival and our studies after the program, and turn our experiences into an investment! Thank you to everyone in Australia, the teachers who supported us, and our parents who gave us this valuable experience. （Rui）

私たちは全員、無事に帰国することができました。本当に素晴らしい経験ができました。Wootyさんは私たちに「消費」「浪費」「投資」について教えてくれました。今の私たちは、まだ（思い出を楽しんでいる）「消費」の状態です。日本に帰ってからも、オーストラリアで築いた人間関係を大切にし、これからどう行動するかによって、この経験を「投資」に変えられるかが決まります。文化祭の準備や帰国後の学習に主体的に取り組み、これを（将来への）「投資」にしていきましょう！オーストラリアで出会った皆さん、サポートしてくださった先生方、そしてこんなにも貴重な経験をさせてくれた保護者の皆さんに、心から感謝いたします。

今日はオーストラリア滞在の最終日でした。

授業はありませんでしたが、とても充実した1日となりました。午前中は The Lakes College 近くの湖で個人ミッションに取り組み、ランチを食べました。午後は Westfield でショッピングを楽しみました。みんな友達と過ごす最後の1日を満喫していました。

オーストラリアでの時間がこれほどあっという間に過ぎ、もう最終日になってしまったことが信じられないくらいです。ですが、ここで得た経験をこれからの学校生活にしっかり活かしていきたいと思います。また、このような素晴らしい時間を過ごすことができたのは家族や先生方のおかげであることを忘れず、常に感謝の気持ちを持ち続けたいです。

Today was our final day in Australia.

Although we didn't have classes, it was a fulfilling day. In the morning, we tackled individual missions at a lake near The Lakes College and had lunch. In the afternoon, we went shopping at Westfield. Everyone enjoyed spending this last day with their friends.

I can hardly believe that our time in Australia has flown by so quickly and that it is already our final day. However, I intend to make the most of the experiences I’ve gained here in my future school life. I also want to always remember my gratitude to my family and teachers, who made this wonderful time possible.　（Yui）

今日はオーストラリアでの最後の日でした。

午前中はレイク・エデン（エデン湖）へ行きました。これまでのプログラムを振り返り、思い出を語り合いました。その後、それぞれのミッションを達成しながら公園の周りを散歩しました。私のミッションは「参加者全員と写真を撮ること」でした。先生方を含め、全員と写真を撮ることができ、とても良い思い出になりました。

午後はショッピングに行きました。たくさんのお土産を買い、オーストラリアでの最終日を心から楽しみました。一生忘れることのない、本当に素晴らしい経験となりました！

Today was our last day in Australia.

In the morning, we went to Lake Eden. We looked back on the program and shared our memories. After that, we walked around the park while completing our individual missions. My mission was to take a photo with every participant. I was able to take photos with everyone, including our teachers, which became a wonderful memory for me.

In the afternoon, we went shopping. I bought a lot of souvenirs and really enjoyed our last day in Australia. It was a wonderful experience that I will never forget! (Saki)

『第27回高校生国際美術展（美術・立体部門）』において、本校美術部2年の小串真央さんの作品『Reborn』が奨励賞を受賞しました。

同作品は、一次写真審査を県内で唯一通過し、二次審査においても高い評価を受けました。

小串さんは、「臆病なアルマジロがミラーボールのように輝き、前向きに生まれ変わる姿を表現した」と作品に込めた思いを語っています。また、鏡を一枚一枚加工して貼り付ける作業に苦労しながらも、作品が評価されたことへの喜びと、支えてくれた先生方や仲間への感謝の気持ちを述べていました。

なお、奨励賞以上の受賞作品は、8月5日から8月16日まで国立新美術館に展示されます。

小串さんのさらなる活躍を期待するとともに、今後も本校美術部への温かいご声援をよろしくお願いいたします。

Today was our last day at Lakes College.

We cherished our final classes and the conversations with our buddies.

We expressed our gratitude for everything, especially through the letters we wrote to them.

I'm going to miss my friends so much, but I'd be thrilled if we could meet again someday—whether in Japan or Australia!

I want to keep studying English back in Japan so we can catch up properly next time! （Tamaki）

今日がレイクス・カレッジでの最後の日でした。

最後の授業や、バディたちとの会話の一つひとつを大切に過ごしました。

感謝の気持ちを込めて書いた手紙をはじめ、これまでのお礼を伝えました。

友達と別れるのは本当に寂しいですが、日本でもオーストラリアでも、いつかまた再会できたら最高に嬉しいです！

次に会ったときにしっかり近況を語り合えるよう、日本に帰ってからも英語の勉強を続けたいと思います！

今日もザ・レイクス・カレッジへ行きました。

今日は社会、体育、それからESLの授業がありました。社会の授業の後、教会で集会がありました。私たちは英語でいくつか質問に答えました。この学校の生徒たちは、時々礼拝のために教会に集まるのだと知りました。私たちの学校にはそういった文化（習慣）がないので、とても興味深かったです。

明日はザ・レイクス・カレッジで過ごす最後の日になるので、友達との時間を思い切り楽しみたいと思います！

We went to The Lakes College again today.

I had humanities, physical education, and ESL. After the humanities class, we had a meeting in the church. We answered some questions in English. I learned that the students of the school sometimes gather in the church to worship. It was interesting to me because we don’t have that kind of culture in our school.

Tomorrow is the last day we spend at The Lakes College, so we want to enjoy our time with our friends! (Rio)

８月３日

それぞれの週末を終え、生徒たちはまた現地校に通う生活に戻りました。お世話になっている現地の高校"The Lakes College"はICT(情報教育)を積極的に活用している一方で、生徒が携帯電話を校内に持ち込むことを禁止し、使用を厳しく制限しています。本校生徒ももちろんこのルールに従っています。したがって残念ながら、校内の様子をこちらに掲載することはできませんが、そのおかげで対面での交流を図ることができているそうです。私たちもスマホなしの学校生活を見直してもいいのかもしれません。

"Today was my third day back at school. I was so happy to see my friends again after such a long time. We talked a lot about what we did over the weekend.

Today, I had Maths, Technology Innovation, Business Economics, and English in the afternoon.

In our English class, we shared our best memories and talked about the differences between Japan and Australia. I learned many new things, and it was a great learning experience. I hope to learn even more tomorrow."(Shiori)

８月２日

生徒たちは引き続き、ホストファミリーとの週末を楽しんでいます。

ブリスベンは現在冬ですが、かなり温暖な気候だそうです。朝晩は少し冷えるものの、日中は日差しが強く、気温は24℃程まで上がり半袖で過ごせる日もあるとのことです。クイーンズランド州では長期的に平均気温が上昇しているそうです。日本だけでなく、世界の様々な場所で地球温暖化の影響が見られるということでしょうか。

今日も楽しい週末を過ごした報告が届いています！

"Today, I went to a park with my friend. There were tennis courts and basketball courts, and the park was much larger than the parks in Japan. We played basketball together, and he taught me how to shoot and dribble. I had a lot of fun. After that, we went shopping and bought lots of snacks as souvenirs for my classmates and family.

Next, I went to the Sunshine Coast with my host family. We ate fish and chips, and they were delicious. We also played on the beach. The weather was very hot, but we had a great time." (Taiki)

８月１日

現地の生徒たちは各ホストファミリー宅でそれぞれの休日を過ごしています。滞在中のブリスベンは「都会」と「自然」のバランスが非常に良く、中心部から徒歩圏内にラグーンがあったり、電車や車で1時間程のところに美しいビーチが点在しているそうです。そんな環境だからこそ、現地の方だけではなく、様々な国から来た人たちとの交流も生まれやすいのかも知れません。

"It was my first holiday in Australia, and we did so many exciting things today.

First, we went to the beach. It was very different from the beaches in Japan. The ocean was a beautiful shade of green, so we were able to take lots of great pictures.

Next, we went shopping and bought a lot of Tim Tams! They are a very famous chocolate snack in Australia.

In the evening, we had a barbecue and played basketball in the park. Playing basketball was an especially great experience because we got to play with people from many different countries. They were all friendly and very good at basketball.

It was a very busy day, but we had a wonderful time!" (Ibuki)

７月３１日(金)

今日はブリスベンにある博物館"Queensland Museum Kurilpa"を訪れました。ここには、クイーンズランド州の動植物や生態系、また第二次世界大戦などの戦争の歴史についての展示があるそうです。(博物館は概要はこちら)

"Today, I visited an art museum in central Brisbane and the University of Queensland. At the museum, I learned not only about animals and plants but also about the history of war.
I don’t know what the people who lived through those times were thinking, but I believe it’s important for us to reflect on how those events make us feel today."(Ayana)

７月３０日（木）

現地滞在中の本校生徒たちは、現地校２日目の登校日でした。日本の高校にはないような科目もあったようです。また、授業を通じて多くの生徒たちと交流しているとのことです。

お世話になっているのは "The Lakes College"という高校です。オーストラリアやイギリスでは、日本の高校に相当する学校を"college"と呼ぶそうです（特に中高一貫校）。アメリカでは"college"は大学を指します。どの国の人に対しても、高校と区別して「大学」の話をしたいときは"university"を使うのが良さそうです。

現地校での撮影が禁止されているため、残念ながら校内の様子をお届けできませんが、以下、周辺の様子が送られてきています。

"We went to The Lakes College again today. I had four classes: Law, English, Math, and Physics. We really enjoyed talking with the local students and sharing our different cultures with each other.

７月２９日（水）

オーストラリア滞在中の本校生徒たちは、現地の高校に初登校しました。これから、現地生徒との学校生活が始まります。オーストラリアは南半球にあるため今の季節は冬ですが、冬休みは６月下旬から７月下旬にあるため、現在は新学期がスタートしたばかりだそうです。ちなみに現地の夏休みは１２月下旬から１月下旬とのことです。

7月28日（火）

オーストラリア海外派遣一行は無事にブリスベンに到着しました。今日は、ブリスベン市内で行ったウォールアート鑑賞の報告が届いています。また、その後ホームステイファミリーとの対面式が行われました。これから現地の生活が始まります！現地からの報告をどうぞ！

”On the second day of our study trip to Australia, we split into groups in central Brisbane to search for wall art. We got to see street art that you rarely see in Japan! There were various shops and people from many different countries, making the walk super fun. I was also surprised to find a few Japanese shops there.(Junna)”

”We met our host family for the first time. We introduced ourselves and talked with them. At first, we were nervous, but we were able to communicate well. I'm looking forward to spending time with them for the rest of this trip!　(Ami)”

7月27日（月）本校生徒23名と引率教員2名を乗せた飛行機がオーストラリアへ向けて離陸しました。ホームステイを通じて現地の生活を体験し、現地校に通いながら語学と文化を学びます。8月7日に帰国予定です。

　クラス別コースの五十沢川沿いウォークでは、川遊びとマスつかみ取りも体験できました。

　３日目も予定どおりに実施でき、早いクラスでは１７時に、遅いクラスでも１８時３０分に南浦和駅に到着しました。

　昨日（22日）の平標山登山では、熊に遭遇することもなく、熱中症になる生徒も出ず、３日間を無事に終えることができました。皆様のご協力・ご理解に感謝申し上げます。

7月19日（日）、本校の公開講座としてステンドグラス入門講座「祈り」を開催しました。県内各地から10名が参加し、正午から18時30分まで熱心に制作に取り組みました。

参加者のうち8名はステンドグラス未経験者でしたが、全員が高度な技法に果敢に挑戦。それぞれ試行錯誤を重ねながら、美しく個性あふれるオリジナルのキャンドルスタンドを完成させました。

受講者の皆さんは、作品を完成させた達成感と喜びに満ち、笑顔で帰路につきました。猛暑の中ご参加いただきありがとうございました。

本日、朝霞市産業文化センターにてイブニング学校説明会を行いました。平日の実施の中、多くの皆様にご来場いただきました。誠にありがとうございました。

次は、本校で実施する学校説明会にご来場いただき、実際の蕨高校の生徒を知っていただければ幸いです。

７月２４日（金）朝霞市でイブニング説明会を行います。会場は朝霞市産業文化センター（東武東上線朝霞台駅・JR武蔵野線北朝霞駅より徒歩５分）の研修室です。

１８：１５開会（１８：００開場）

　林間学校３日目は、クラス別行動となります。

　昨日の疲れもどこへやら！みんな元気です。

　五十沢川沿いウォーク、ブナの原生林一周、清津峡トンネルと河岸段丘展望、清津川ハイキング、大源太湖畔ハイキングのコースがあります。

　３３班に編成して、平標山にアタックしました。ほとんどの班が山頂までたどり着くことができました。

　天候に恵まれすぎて雷もなく、熱中症を心配しましたが、全員元気にホテルに戻ることができました。

　林間学校２日目、天候に恵まれ晴天です。

　本日（22日）、１学年全員が平標山にアタックします。

　８時半ころの登山口スタート、早い班で１５時くらい、遅くとも１７時にはホテルに着く計画です。

　お弁当、ペットボトル５００mlを４本、塩飴を持ってのぼります。
